INFORMED CONSENT FORM


You are being asked to participate in a study conducted by Sara Harris, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Psychology, Claremont Graduate University. The purpose of the study is to assess the relationship between an individual's level of mental effort and making choices. You will be shown a series of letters and then prompted to solve simple arithmetic problems. After this task, you will be given a hypothetical opportunity to choose an exotic jam flavor. At no point will you be asked to indicate your name; all responses are completely confidential. The Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Claremont Graduate University has approved this project.

You will be compensated $0.40.

Voluntary Nature of Participation: Participation in this research is completely voluntary. Although we cannot use your responses unless you complete the entire experiment, you have the right to withdraw from the research at any time.

Confidentiality: You will not be asked to provide your name at any point in this research, so your privacy will be maintained in all publications and presentations resulting from this study.
