You have been invited to take part in a research study on perceptions of learning disabilities. Before you decide, it is crucial that you understand why the research is being conducted and what it will involve. My name is Kara Price and I am a fourth year Psychology Undergraduate student at Glasgow Caledonian University. I am conducting a study to fulfil the requirements for my degree. The purpose of this study is to investigate differences in people's perceptions of learning disabilities.
You have been asked to take part because you meet the following criteria: you are 18 or over.
Participation is entirely voluntary and no reimbursement will be made but your help would be greatly appreciated.
You will asked three questions for your consent below and once accepted to participate, you will be asked to complete a short online survey that will take approximately 20 minutes. You still are free to withdraw at any time and do not have to complete all the questions. A decision to withdraw at any time or a decision not to take part will not affect you in any way.
Your answers will be treated confidentially and will be anonymous. They will only be used by myself and my supervisor if necessary.
The results will be written up as part of my coursework and password protected. It is necessary for us to retain original data until May 2013. After that, all original data will be destroyed.
