Motivations for playing driving video games.

Introduction

I am a researcher at Edge Hill University. I am researching the differences between experienced and casual gamers' motivations for playing racing/driving games. This study aims to examine the differences in motivations between individuals depending on the amount of time they play on video games.

The study will consist of 2 short questionnaires which will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. You must be 18 years or older in order to take part in the study. The questionnaire includes questions on gaming motivations for playing driving games and this will be collected using a gaming motivation scale of 1-5 for each question. There are also 5 demographic questions.

As a participant, your data will remain anonymous and your individual responses will not be identifiable. All data will be kept confidential and will only be used for academic purposes (e.g., research papers and conference presentations). Furthermore, any data will be stored safely and securely in accordance with Data Protection Act (1998). You have the right to withdraw from the study at any time by closing your Internet Browser. However, once you have submitted your data, you will not be able to withdraw as all data is anonymous and individual responses cannot be identified.
