THE PURPOSE OF THIS STUDY IS TO UNDERSTAND HOW ONE RELATES TO ONESELF, OTHER PEOPLE AND SPIRITUALITY – (there are NO RIGHT or WRONG ANSWERS).

Who is doing the study?

The researcher is Michaela Avlund (BA Applied Social Care), Wicklow Town, Ireland, a student under the supervision of Joan Painter, University of East London (UEL) Stratford Campus, Water Lane, London, E15 4LZ. The research is carried out as part of a Masters Degree program.

What will I be asked to do?

If you agree to participate in this study you will be asked about your age and gender and then a series of questions regarding your attitude to yourself and others, especially when you fail at something. You will be asked about your daily spiritual connections (if you have them), your general mood, well-being and optimism. It is expected to take approximately 8-12 minutes.

Will the survey be confidential and do I have to take part?

The questionnaire is anonymous, and all data will be kept completely confidential, stored electronically and later erased. Your participation is totally voluntary and you are free to withdraw at any time, without explanation.

PLEASE COMPLETE THE QUESTIONNAIRE IN ONE SITTING PREFERABLY IN A RELAXED MOOD AND IN BRIGHT SURROUNDINGS.

This study has been reviewed and approved by the University of East London's Ethics Committee.

Who benefits from this study?

There are no direct benefits of participation apart from the opportunity to reflect on personal coping skills and possibly helping to advance scientific understanding regarding suitable life-skills programs in schools and organisations.
